此款為日常訓練和比賽而生的專業比賽級橄欖球。

橄欖球為橢圓形，由四塊皮革縫合而成，因與橄欖形狀相似，故中文翻譯成「橄欖球」。

「橄欖球」的中文譯名是因其使用橄欖形（橢圓形）用球而得名，可以泛指一切使用橢圓形球的球類運動（包括規則完全不同的聯盟式橄欖球、美式橄欖球、加式橄欖球和澳式橄欖球），在英語中並無類似稱呼。
